Let’s Go Caps!!!
I wanted to review all the information for the Carolina trip coming up this Saturday. We have added another pick-up and now have two
locations - the Greenbelt Metro Station and the other at the Springfield Mall
parking lot. I will need everyone to send me an email letting me know which
pick-up location they will be using and your cell phone number.
- Greenbelt Metro: 5717 Greenbelt Metro Drive, Greenbelt, MD 20740. For directions and parking information: http://www.wmata.com/metrorail/Stations/station.cfm?station=80. The bus will be in
the bus parking lot leaving the Greenbelt Metro Station at
8:30am to head to Springfield to meet up with the other bus. Point
of contact at this location is Tina 301-803-0667.
- Springfield Mall: 6500 Springfield Mall, Springfield, VA 22150, Entrance 1 near Sport Authority. For direction: http://www.springfieldmall.com/directions.aspx.
The buses will be leaving Springfield Mall at 9:30am. Point of contact at this location is Nancy 703-569-9834 and Vic
410-693-0563.
- There will sings in the in the window of each bus that say
Washington Capitals Fan Club!
You may want to bring drinks or snacks on the bus, but
PLEASE remember that we need to make sure we leave the bus in good condition.
The drive to Carolina should take about 4.5 hours depending on traffic. We’ll plan
on making one rest stop to take a break on the way there.
We will be tail-gating with the Carolina Booster Club before
the game in the grassy area at the stadium’s parking lot. They are roasting a
pig for us! For anyone that doesn’t want to eat pork, please bring something
that you would like to grill. There will be grills for us to use. Also, if
you would like to bring a side dish to share, that would be great! Drinks (water
and soda) will be provided as well, but no alcohol. If you would like to bring
beer you may do so, but we will have to store it under the bus on the way
there. The bus company does not allow drinking of alcoholic beverages on the
bus. Please bring any folding chairs or blankets that you would like to use during
this event. There will be room to store these items under the bus.
For the people that have purchased a ticket only and want to
participate in the tailgating, please call me once you get to the arena and
I’ll be able to better direct you to our location.
Don’t forget there will be games on the trip such as the
First Goal contest, a drawing for which player will score the first goal for
the Capitals. There will be door prizes, including used autographed Alexander
Semin and Shaone Morrisonn sticks. Every fan on the trip will be eligible to
win.
