Impact of NHL postponement of games for the Washington Capitals Fan Club
Fan Club Members:
When the NHL announced yesterday the postponement of games due to coronavirus concerns, we immediately contacted Clyde's to cancel our use of the Piedmont Room on Saturday. There was no point - no purpose in asking members to co me into DC for a meeting. Our interest is in your safety and health.
When we hear from the NHL concerning a resumption of the season, we will try to reschedule the meeting if the Capitals have some weekend home games.
Meanwhile we will continue to notify you of events we are planning for this summer such as our annual trip to Nationals Park on August 14. We have also had preliminary talks with Joe B concerning another wine-tasting event but it’s too early to know his schedule. Otherwise, pretty much everything in the Washington area has shut down so some ideas we’ve had will have to wait.
For those of you who signed up for the Hershey Bears game on March 28, the AHL has also shut down. Nettie is contacting the Bears and will contact those of you who have signed up.
We have a few members who were going to pick up their membership packets & pucks at an upcoming game. I will be contacting you. My plan is to mail the few remaining packets.
For those of you who regularly attend our meetings, we thank you. We will be working with you and Clydes regarding some new ideas for the buffet we offer each meeting. We had added a beer or wine ticket with the buffet at no additional cost for March but will also look at other alternatives for the dishes offered.
In closing, please take care of yourself and try to stay healthy. If you have any questions, please contact me at email@example.com.
