The Washington Capitals Fan Club (WCFC or the Fan Club), a member of the National Hockey League Booster Clubs, was established in 1974 to develop an interest in the Washington Capitals and the sport of ice hockey as played by the National Hockey League.

The Fan Club:

​

• Organizes road trips to Capitals away games and Hershey Bears home games;

• Hosts meet and greets with visiting booster clubs;

• Participates in volunteer opportunities organized by the Capitals organization as well as other area charitable causes;

• Organizes local activities for Fan Club members such as Nationals outings and viewing parties;

• Publishes a monthly newsletter and be active on Facebook and Twitter;

• Recognizes Capitals players by donating to players' charities as well as local area youth hockey organizations; and

• Represents the Fan Club at the annual NHL Booster Clubs Convention (NHLBCC).
